How we met the challenge

Lonza is one of the world’s leading suppliers to the pharmaceutical, healthcare and life science industries. Architectural Interiors were commissioned by ‘Area Square’ to design the office at Lonza.

From our workplace appraisal we studied the existing set-up and planned an efficient layout to improve productivity and manage the increase in headcount. Once the proposed design had been agreed we worked in conjunction with ‘Area Square’ to build an outstanding office interior.

We worked very closely with the client at the initial design stage and created a series of options for the proposed floor. The existing open plan arrangement was in great need of updating. The original layout incorporated very high partitions to screen off individual departments and this led to problems with the air-conditioning and communication across the office floor.

Our proposal was radically different. By creating an open plan environment with low screens and special zones for print and filing we helped Lonza achieve increased productivity and efficiency.
