How we met the challenge

Architectural Interiors was commissioned to re-design their restaurant in Belsize Park. Focusing on their requirements we produced a desirable environment paying particular attention to function, interior finishes and lighting. All were achieved without compromising the PizzaExpress brand image.

This restaurant, located in the up-and-coming area of Belsize Park, was part of three commissions set out by Gondola. Our role was to re-design the existing layout, specify and project manage from start to finish.

We started by investigating the existing restaurant and saw that the space was badly lit and the layout had room for improvement. Our initial endeavor was to increase the amount of covers and refresh existing facilities whilst being cost effective. We achieved this by exploring different layout options and sourcing different types of furniture and finishes.

Not only did Architectural Interiors re-design the interior but we also revitalised the exterior. By introducing an astro-turf external floor finish, new chairs, lighting and a canopy we were able to achieve an exciting area. By fully opening the front of the restaurant diners are able to appreciate the alfresco experience during the warm weather.

This project was set over a very tight timescale, only two weeks on site, minimising restaurant down time. We are proud to note we finished on time and within budget.
